White Garlic Pizza Sauce

Creamy and flavorful, this White Garlic Pizza Sauce is the perfect alternative to traditional tomato sauce, adding a rich garlic punch to your homemade pizzas.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to form a roux.
  4. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking continuously to avoid lumps.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 3–5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat, then stir in Parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, and olive oil.
  7. Allow the sauce to cool slightly before spreading over pizza dough and adding toppings.

Notes

For an extra creamy texture, add a tablespoon of cream cheese or substitute half of the milk with heavy cream.
