Spicy Wontons in Chilli Sauce

These Spicy Wontons in Chilli Sauce offer a fiery and flavorful Asian-inspired appetizer featuring tender wontons drenched in a vibrant, tongue-tingling chilli sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 wonton wrappers
  • 200g ground pork
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • For the chilli sauce:
  • 3 tbsp chili garlic sauce
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine ground pork, garlic, ginger, green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Place about 1 tsp of filling in the center of each wonton wrapper. Moisten edges with water and fold to seal, forming a triangle or desired shape.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry wontons in batches until golden and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, sesame oil, and water to make the chilli sauce.
  5. Serve wontons warm, drizzled with the prepared chilli sauce or use the sauce as a dipping dip.

Notes

For an extra kick, garnish with chopped fresh cilantro or toasted sesame seeds before serving.
