Spicy Gochujang Eggs

Spicy Gochujang Eggs combine creamy, perfectly fried eggs with the bold, spicy flavors of Korean gochujang sauce, making for a quick and flavorful breakfast or snack.

  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 green onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix gochujang, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and minced garlic until well combined.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Crack the eggs into the skillet and cook sunny-side up to desired doneness, about 3–4 minutes, or until whites are set but yolks remain runny.
  4. Remove skillet from heat and spoon the gochujang sauce evenly over each egg.
  5. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
  6. Serve immediately with steamed rice or toasted bread for a complete meal.

Notes

For extra richness, try adding a drizzle of melted butter on the eggs before serving or topping with a sprinkle of toasted seaweed flakes.
