  • 4 cups cooked and mashed sweet potatoes
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • For the Topping:
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/4 cup butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine mashed sweet potatoes, milk, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  3. Pour the sweet potato mixture into the prepared baking dish.
  4. Prepare the topping: In a separate bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, chopped pecans, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the sweet potato mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the sweet potato mixture is heated through.
