Salted Caramel Cookies

Delight in these soft, chewy salted caramel cookies that combine rich caramel flavor with a perfect hint of sea salt for an irresistible treat.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup soft caramel candies, chopped
  • Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chopped caramel pieces gently.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are still soft.
  9. Immediately after removing from the oven, sprinkle a pinch of coarse sea salt on each cookie.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra gooey center, press a small caramel piece into the center of each cookie dough ball before baking.
