mini sausage roll wreaths

Delightfully festive mini sausage roll wreaths featuring flaky puff pastry wrapped around savory sausage, perfect for holiday appetizers or party snacks.

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 250g sausage meat
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs, for garnish
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, mix sausage meat, chopped onion, garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface and cut into 1-inch wide strips.
  4. Place a small amount of sausage mixture along one edge of each strip and roll the pastry tightly around to encase the filling.
  5. Form each sausage roll strip into a small wreath shape and pinch the ends to seal.
  6. Place the wreaths on the baking tray, brush with beaten egg, and garnish with small rosemary sprigs.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving warm.

Notes

For a festive touch, serve with a side of cranberry sauce or grainy mustard for dipping.
