A comforting dish combining creamy mac and cheese with tender honey black pepper chicken for a flavorful, satisfying meal perfect for dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional)
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Season diced chicken with garlic powder, salt, and smoked paprika. Add chicken to skillet and cook until golden and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes.
  3. Stir in honey and freshly ground black pepper to the chicken. Cook for another 2 minutes until the chicken is well coated and caramelized. Remove from heat.
  4. In a separate saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute to form a roux.
  5. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
  6. Remove from heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  7. Combine the cooked macaroni, cheese sauce, and honey pepper chicken in the large skillet or a mixing bowl. Stir gently to combine all components evenly.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.
