  • 1 cup fresh cranberries
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Fresh cilantro or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar, water, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until the cranberries burst and mixture thickens, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese with finely chopped jalapeno and salt. Mix until smooth.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on a serving dish.
  4. Top with the cooled cranberry-jalapeno sauce evenly over the cream cheese layer.
  5. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley if desired.
  6. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving for best flavor.
