These Cinnamon Sugar Snowball Cookies are buttery, melt-in-your-mouth treats dusted with cinnamon sugar, perfect for holiday celebrations or everyday indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for coating)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon (for coating)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Mix in the vanilla extract until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, and cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them about 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, until the bottoms are lightly golden but the tops remain pale.
  8. While the cookies are baking, combine granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl for coating.
  9. Remove cookies from oven and let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
  10. While still warm, gently roll each cookie in the cinnamon sugar mixture to coat thoroughly.
  11. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, try drizzling melted white chocolate over the cooled cookies or adding finely chopped pecans to the dough for additional texture.
