Chocolate Mint Crinkles

Deliciously soft and fudgy chocolate crinkle cookies infused with refreshing mint flavor, perfect for any festive occasion or as an indulgent treat.

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for rolling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg, peppermint extract, and vanilla extract until combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  6. Cover the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
  7. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar to coat.
  8. Place the coated dough balls 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the cookies have spread and have crackled surfaces.
  10. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, drizzle melted white chocolate over the cooled cookies. Store them in an airtight container to keep them soft and fresh.
