Cheese Tortellini in Creamy Marinara

  • 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Cook the cheese tortellini according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Pour in crushed tomatoes, then stir in dried basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream and Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy.
  5. Add the cooked tortellini to the sauce, gently tossing to coat evenly.
  6. Cook for another 2 minutes to warm through and let flavors meld.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with fresh basil leaves.

Notes

For extra protein, add grilled chicken or sautéed mushrooms. Serve with garlic bread for a complete meal.
