A flavorful and creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta combining tender chicken with a spicy, smoky sauce tossed over perfectly cooked pasta, ideal for a quick and satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 8 ounces penne pasta
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. Season the sliced chicken breasts with Cajun seasoning evenly on all sides.
  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add the garlic, bell peppers, and onion. Sauté until vegetables are tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Pour in chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce is creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet along with the drained pasta. Toss everything together to coat pasta with sauce evenly.
  8. Cook for another 2 minutes to heat through. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra heat, sprinkle crushed red pepper flakes on top or add more Cajun seasoning according to your spice preference.
