Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets, finely chopped
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Steam the broccoli florets until tender, about 5 minutes, then drain and let cool.
  2. In a large bowl, combine chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
  3. Beat the egg and add it to the mixture, stirring until well combined.
  4. Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Carefully fry the broccoli cheese balls until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a healthier version, bake the broccoli cheese balls at 400°F (200°C) for 15-20 minutes instead of frying.
